St Francis Vegetable Garden is proud to announce our 5k event on March 14th, 2020. We are running in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Day on the Bayou, Hosted by the Friends of Bayou Lafourches.
About St Francis Vegetable Gardens
St. Francis Vegetable Gardens are planted and maintained by corporations, individual volunteers, civic groups, religious organizations, university/school groups, and Master Gardeners. Families, schools and businesses come together and create a place for children to learn about agriculture, healthy living and giving back to the community. The harvests provide healthy, local food for those most in need in our parishes.
Our mission is to:
- Grow community vegetable gardens and donate the harvests to local food banks.
- Provide teachers and parents with a living outdoor classroom where they can present integrated lessons on health, biology, math and science.
- Support local growers by educating the community on the importance of fresh, local food for our health and the region’s economy.

Donate to the St. Francis Vegetable Garden
We are a non-profit organization. St. Francis Vegetable Garden is funded by in-kind and financial donations from individuals, businesses and community members. Also, we host an annual Harvest Run and Bike Tour fundraiser.
This organization fully relies on donations from our community and local donors, like you, to help us fulfill our mission.
